From December to February
The love of Pau's inhabitants for horses has lasted over 2 centuries (the national stud farm was created at Napoleon’s request in 1807).
The Pau race course is steeped in history, with races taking place from 1842 onwards and offering a unique atmosphere which never fails to impress. From December to February there is always something on the agenda, including the 2 highlights: Pau Grand Prix on 22th January and the Grande Cross on 5th February; both competitions were created in 1879.
