Follow the flow of water…
And discover the flow of history…
A different view of the city, from the water the city was founded upon. Vesunna, the goddess of water, first gave her name to the Roman city, whose museum and archaeological site located beside the Vesonne tower, bear witness to this era. There are also several fountains to be found in the city, including Plumancy fountain located in the square of the same name, an allegory of the city built in the 19th century. Finally, take some time to explore the trail alongside the Isle River, on foot, rollerblades, bike or by canoe, as Périgueux is a city where it feels like you’re in the countryside!
