The city of Henry IV, at the foot of the Pyrenees
Crossed by a centuries old cable car, the palm grove in the city centre reminds us that the capital of Béarn is a city which springs up amongst the greenery opposite the Pyrénées mountain range.
Pau is a green city and recently listed as a « Town of Art and History » that is also keen on gastronomy and on horses (national stud farms are located here), with a British influence for several years, which might explain the presence of the many English villas... And above all, the oldest golf course in continental Europe.
